Overview:
Book this 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour combining both two most famous Imperial Cities in Morocco. Travel across the Middle Atlas Mountains and the cedar forests outside of Azrou. Drive through Berber villages and along the Ziz Valley, full of oases and Kasbahs. Stop at Erfoud to visit the fossils exhibits full of souvenirs and furniture. Experience camel trekking in the Erg Chebbi wind-blown sand dunes.
ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Fez Ifrane Midelt made a statement Erfoud Merzouga dunes
The departure of the Riad / Hotel will be at 8 am. The trip to Erg Chebbi sand dunes will last 8 hours in which we will see the Atlas Mountains and some villages (Tafilalet, Erfoud and Rissani). We will stop in some cities such as Ifrane and Azrou to enjoy the view of El Cedar forest and monkeys live there. Lunch will be served at Midelt made a statement and then we will continue going through the valley zigzagging way to come out with a beautiful view of the palm trees until we get to Erg Chebbi where we would do what we would think twice before arriving at desert camels camp to spend the night in a Berber tent.
Day 2: Erg Chebbi Gorges Todra
After breakfast, camel trek once more to the hotel to enjoy a shower. We leave the Sahara desert rises from Erg Chebbi, a rough terrain of the hamada (black desert) to reach the city of Rissani Sahara. Subsequently, we head north to Erfoud which is known for fossils; Here we can visit a fossil workshop before proceeding to the incredible Todra valley, known for rock climbing, where you can walk before you drive to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Dades Valley Gorges Todra Skoura Ouarzazate
Breakfast at the hotel, we started our journey on the road of the Thousand Kasbahs, as they are colossal kasbahs on both sides of the street. Some of the mentioned old houses are reinforced however, unfortunately they are restored a considerable measure of them remain vestiges. We pass through Dades valley to continue the road to the rocky area, where numerous Berber villages and many nomads who live in caves, here we will have the opportunity to visit one of these families and investigate their life and their fundamental movement ‘to attend groups of goats and horn’. You will be amazed by the scenes of the bright pink valley before getting Skoura palm trees. 45Km further, we can achieve Ouarzazate at night in a local hotel.
Day 4: Ouarzazate Ait Benhaddou High Atlas Marrakech
After breakfast, we will begin our trip from a visit to the film studios located in Ouarzazate which is considered as Hollywood of Africa. Afterwards, we will visit the All Inclusive Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site, which has been used as a value of more than 20 films incorporating ‘Gladiator’, ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. Enjoy a walk to investigate the universal Moroccan style construction models in which the Kasbahs are built. We based our approach to Marrakech through the high Atlas mountains and Tizi n’tichka. Stop for lunch in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Transfer to your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
