Overview:
3 days tour from Fez to Marrakech in the desert. explore the Merzouga desert, stay overnight in a desert camp and enjoy the camel ride at Erg Chebbi. Follow the road of the 1002 kasbahs to explore the famous kasbahs of southern Morocco. the tour ends in Marrakech.
ITINERARY:
ay 1: Fez – Merzouga
Meeting in Fes we will drive south to Ifrane and Azrou in the Middle Atlas mountains, stopping in the cedar forest to see the Barbarians Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz sickles created through the volcanic rock, you will see the views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the landscape changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach it to the city of Errachidia. After lunch, we will continue our journey through the valley of Ziz to Rissani and Merzouga, the home of his guide Youssef. After a glass of mint tea, you will be ready for your camel and guided by an experienced camel guide you will start your safari exploring within the mysterious sand-sea of Erg-Chebbi. Here you can spend the night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent. Dinner is served in the tent where you can spend the night.
Day 2: Merzouga – Gorges of Todra – Gorge dades
Your guide camel wakes you up early in the morning to see how good the best sunrise of your life may be. Afterwards, you will have to peacefully camel-trek back to your Riad appreciating the beauty of Erg Chebbi’s spectacular dunes: – change with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast at the Riad, you will leave Tinghir and Todra – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here you will have the opportunity to take a walk along its valley. After lunch, in the heart of the ravine we will drive through the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as ‘monkey’ of the fingers. Accommodation will be at a hotel in the heart of the ravine.
Day 3: Dades Gorge – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast at the hotel we will drive through the valley dades towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is the path of the Thousand Kasbahs – it provides numerous opportunities to take some of your best photo shots of the trip. We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, ‘the city of roses’, to buy the rosewater, which will make your clothes smell good long after your trip. Continue Ouarzazat, ‘the Hollywood of Africa’. Lunch is at the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO historic wedding site, now in a house of members of the Glaoui family, you can continue your journey through the majestic ‘n’ Tizi Tichka (2260m) through the mountains of the great Atlas, before Arrive at your accommodation in Marrakech, where the tour ends.
